Viewing honoring Officer Jobbers-Miller set for Sunday evening

Local residents prepare to say their final goodbyes to Fort Myers police officer Adam Jobbers-Miller at a Sunday viewing prepared in his honor. The viewing will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Gendron Funeral Home located at 2325 East Mall Drive behind the Edison Mall in Fort Myers. The viewing service is open to the public. The full honors funeral ceremony will be held on Monday at noon at Germain Arena in Estero and will also be open to the public. Officer Jobbers-Miller, 29, was shot on July 21 after responding to a call at the Marathon Gas station on Dr. Marin Luther King Jr., Boulevard in. Jobbers-Miller died one week later from his gunshot wound on July 28. The Fort Myers Police Department released the following statement on Monday thanking the community for its support:"The members of the Fort Myers Police Department are grateful for the overwhelming amount of support being shown by our community for the family of fallen officer Adam Jobbers-Miller. Businesses and organizations have contacted the department announcing fundraisers to assist the officer’s family. Bowser Shepherd, 86, of Bridgeport,  passed away on Thursday, August 9, 2018, at the Bridgeport Health Care Center.She was born in Crellin, Md., on December 25, 1931, a daughter of the late Cecil S. and Jamain Gooding Bowser.She was married on July 29, 1972, to Paul Vincent “Farmer” Shepherd, who preceded her in death in 2006.Mrs. Shepherd is survived by two children, Sherall L. Benson and husband Robert, of West Milford and Connie D. Drvar and husband Nickolas, of Morgantown; four grandchildren, Michele Mace and husband Shannon, Jennifer Shuman and husband Jesse, Mark Benson, Nicole Golden and husband Robert, Ashley Wolfe and husband Steve; five great-grandchildren, Shelby Shuman, Alexandria Golden, Olivia Golden, Brady Wolfe, and Cole Wolfe;   two brothers and one sister, William Bowser, of North Fort Myers, Fla., Patricia Boggs and husband Clyde, of Booth and James Bowser and wife Pamela, of Morgantown; as well as several nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sisters, Dorothy “Dottie” Brownfield, Betty K. Day, and Rebecca June Osborne; and brother, Robert G.
